You’ll be picked up at 7:30 from your guesthouse or hotel and a tuk-tuk brings you to Ban Dong Xieng Dee, a small village just 11 km outside of Vientiane and the starting point of our cycling tour. Once on two wheels, we will pass vast areas of paddy fields and numerous typical Lao lowland villages. Depending on the available time we may get off the bike for a visit at a primary school in Ban Phonsavanh. If we are lucky and the kids have a break we can interact with them for a while.
We continue our cycling tour to Ban Nakhun Noi, where we stop for some refreshing drinks. On the next leg will follow a new road link between the national roads no 13 and 10. In Ban Nong Bua (‘lotus pond’) our local
lunch will be ready once arriving there and we’ll enjoy the beautiful views of the village from the veranda of the restaurant.
After lunch we continue cycling for about 7 km and stop at the Ban Sufa resort. This idyllic place under huge trees and overlooking rice fields allows us to relax, have a coffee, and a cooling laze around in one of the resort’s two small swimming pools. A tuk-tuk will be ready around 3 pm to bring us back to Vientiane before the rush hour begins.
